Do Carbon Credits equal Slavery?
I’ve written about slavery before, that was individual slavery. Today I will make a very few points about our country and all of our people being enslaved by the flimflam better known as “Carbon Offsets”. The Earth has been around longer than humans. There have been many changes on our planet before we were nothing more than a few individuals in the desert. Human kind had nothing to do with neither ice ages nor the end of them. Now a few greedy people want to make everyone to think mankind has more to do with the earths and weather than is logical. These people would have each American, European and anyone living in a first world nation punished for the success we have worked hard for and now enjoy. They fill the weak-minded and the foolish with half of the science story and fear in order to extort treasure from each of us. Don’t think so? Are you paying a higher utility bill? How about more for gas? That is just the beginning, it will cost more for everything and what do we get in return? Demands that we do and spend more for more of the same thing. It doesn't make any scenes. It doesn't add up!

And it happens every year.  Just remember… … 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.   Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention ' Global Warming'   anymore, but just ' Climate Change '- you know why? It's because the planet has   COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down. And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure…


 
I’ve been saying something similar to what's in the proceeding article for years, even caught a “Climate Scientist” at a party for a brief, very brief, discussion on “Global Warming”, “Climate Change” or what ever it’s being called this week. He didn’t seem to like that I knew about the phases of the sun, relative position Earth to the sun. Earths “Warble” on its axis and the cycles of climate on the Earth. Not to mention the volcano's Mt. Etna in Italy, Krakatoa in the Indian Ocean (or at least it used to be) & Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippians and the other ten score plus active volcanoes on our Earth. I really didn't present the limited info I had when He finally threw his hands up a walked away. Was it because the arguments he was using were weak?

Don’t misunderstand me humans make a mess, like a bird defecating in its own nest. But in nature, when the bird leaves, the rain and wind will come and the nest is gone along with the mess. Not to say we can do anything without worry but we shouldn’t take humankind too seriously. Nature doesn’t! 

Don’t allow yourself to be enslaved by the corrupt, greedy and evil. They will subjugate if we let them!

United States of America: Conundrum!

The definition of the word conundrum is “something that is puzzling or confusing.”
I received this from a friend then saw it again on a conservative blog.
"Here are six conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! That, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century.
Makes you wonder who is doing the math."

"These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1 . We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.
 
Funny how that works.

And here's another one worth considering...

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come    we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the    first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it.....

and last but not least,

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something?"

It's hard to add anything to the thoughts presented, but I'll try! I'm sure "Politically Incorrect" will rear its ugly head. It usually dose when an honest person speaks there mind.

1. We are all greedy because we want something better for ourselves and our posterity (future generations). 2. The subsidized rent, air conditioned apartment's. People sitting in front of a big, flat screen with cable and an Xbox munching on EBT bought Cheetos. 3. We live in a society that is in the state of perpetual victimization. The only problem is a victim of who and/or what, being given too much? 4. There aren't many in DC I feel represent me & mine so who do they represent? 5. Poor? POOR? There are a few in this country who know poor, but they don't/won't take from the government. (see 2.) 6. If it were so good back where they came from, why did they leave in the first place? Why don't they return there, forthwith?

I know people who come here from foreign lands. They work hard, don't complain while they are trying to fulfill "The American Dream". These people are the ones who I have respect for. My distain is for the ones who have there hands out. The ones who will never be satisfied no matter how much is given them. Respect is something that is earned not something that is given!

I am divorced and have been so for a while now, about two years, after being with the same person for fifteen years. I hadn’t felt much like dating because I was still in love with my wife, (x-wife). So I get out on the scene only to find “Something changed while I wasn’t looking”. It would seem that being decent, direct, forthright and sincere is something modern women not only disdain but distance themselves from

My first attempt started by dating someone I always thought of as an honest and moral person, but when I got close I found, even though I made my intentions clear, a secretive, a pensive individual and it seemed that my stated intentions meant nothing. On my second try I thought I would use a different approach. After observing and a bit of light flirting the opportunity for an talk, to find out which way the wind blew, presented itself. What a surprise, almost immediately an offer of “friends with benefits” was extended to me. I know it sounds odd but I’m no “player” and said as much, in a nice way. That went less well than the first farce. The third and most recent candidate was another I have known for a while. I was a bit put-off at first contact but discounted it in that availability needed to be established. Upon further observation and interviews, with individuals whom had inside information, reconsideration was made on my part. There had been no talk of dating or contact other than subtle innuendo so I thought nothing of it, wrong again. The cold shoulder was the result of that. No great loss as my instinct and interviews pointed to deception and guile. I’ll have none of that again.

Have things changed this much in the last decade and a half? Am I being too hard or is this the new reality? How can I deal with things if they are so different from what I remember? Why am I so out of touch? Perhaps I have not had enough time, out in the world, to find the person I’m looking for! All this leaves me vexed by what I don’t understand.

I'll keep trying, even if I don't understand. I'm sure I don’t like the “New Dating Scene” I have encountered!

Some confuse the two days. Memorial Day  is set aside to remember and honor those in the military who died in the service of their country. Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime and those who died are also remembered

  • It was a post Civil War, Southern tradition first known as Decoration Day.
  • It to honor and remember the soldiers who died. In 1882, many people began calling it “Memorial Day”. Dysfunctional America



Dysfunctional America

What do all of these places have in common: Washington D.C., The State Capitol, The County Seat and Town Hall, they have all lost there way, they are dysfunctional. The problem is that “We the people” are also all, dysfunctional. Personal responsibility, civility, honor, trustworthiness and truthfulness have been lost in America. It seems to be the exception for someone to take responsibility for there own actions. To curse and act the fool in public let alone in private seems to not offend most of us. The most honorees thing anyone seems to want to do today is pat them selves on the back for a mediocre job. To sneak, steal or cheat has been raised to the level of art form. Many of our highest paid executives inspire the worst in human nature instead of condemning it. Most of us don’t think anything about telling a lie, to a stranger, a boss, client, customer, fellow worker, to a parent, child or spouse. To do something mean to someone at school, work or in the street seems to now be common place. I don't find everyone to be this way but most people seem to have lost there honor in this modern society. What has happened? In a word “Bible”, the Bible and the teachings within have been and are still being systematically removed for our culture, with “Political Correctness” and “Self Realization” running amuck and anti-religion, except for Islam, being the word of the day. It is harder and harder to find those things that are good and right around us. Let’s try something; we will throw out the Bible except for the last six of the ten along with the two. That makes eight simple rules for your personal moniker.

Let’s review,
  1. Honor your parents.  (they have experience and should want what is good for you)
  2. Don’t murder anyone.  (sounds simple and straight forward)
  3. Commit to who you’re committed to.  (What if the shoe were on the other foot?)
  4. Don’t steal.  (If it is not yours don’t take it)
  5. Don’t tell a lie  (Especially if it will put another in jail or to death)
  6. Don’t covet.  (It is one thing to admire something another to want it for your own)
  1. Treat everyone like they were your brother.
  2. Don’t do anything to anyone you wouldn’t want them to do to you.

The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May...
 
This the day when children, of all ages, try to show the woman who gave them life how much she means to them. That very special day when serving breakfast in bed is almost obligatory in some households, with Hallmark or extra effort homemade card is on the serving tray. I know this is an idealistic view, but when it comes to Mom, money is of no object, chocolate, candy, flowers, dinning at the finest restaurants & presents of all description. My mother has been gone now for a few years and my youngest is no longer in his mother’s home so I can only participate second hand. I sure do miss being able to do something special for my Mom.
Is “Mothers Day” a holiday hijacked by savvy marketers to fill another weekend with over-the-top spending? Yes! I also think it would be altogether impossible for everyone who wants to celebrate the day without this symbiotic relationship. Do I wish it were different? Again yes, but it is what it is because with our bizzy world it's necessary.
When I sat down to write this I had trouble, not because what “Mothers Day” isn't but because it is. It is all those things that it needs to be, a celebration of mothers everywhere and a positive cash flow situation for many businesses and industries. The thing is, nothing is so altruistic that it doesn't have “the ripple” effect in many different ways. We are all reliant on others, not the least of which is our mothers. For truly this is where we all began.

Summer has officially arrived. As if Y’all didn’t know by now. It going to be “The Long HOT Summer” too. It’s easy to convince people of “Global Warming” oops that’s “Global Climate Change” now isn’t it? (Off on a tangent) because it seems to be wormer now than when I was a kid. It can’t be that I’m less tolerant of the heat, it’s just dam hot!!!

Sitting on the shore drinking a cool beer whilst sitting under an umbrella watching the sun rise over a calm Atlantic, walking a mile to nowhere and back again. Napping on the sand listing to the serf, watching firm bodies in tiny bikini’s play volleyball, now that’s entertainment. All that makes the nearly hour drive to and fro worth every minute spent.

I have been going to the same stretch of beach for almost fifty years. That’s not to say I don’t go/have gone to others but this is the ONE. The bathroom and rinse showers are on the boardwalk at the top of the dune.  Pizza place, Starbucks and ColdStone are right there with a WallGreens & surf shop across the street. Everything one needs close enough, but when you’re on the sand it’s all a million miles away.

What IS & what’s NOT important?

Everyone has been talking about the blockhead that owns the L.A. Clippers. Going on and on about an old fool who spoke his mind in private. That is NOT what is important! The media and Washington D.C. have been doing everything in there power to keep our attention focused on this, in all honesty, and other trivial matters. Not to say that bias, prejudice and bigotry are trivial but when held to the “Big Picture” these are but minutia.

If we are talking about the important things Putin, Kerry and Obama would be the names we would be using in our conversations. Putan in/on the Crimea, Kerry on Israel and Jerusalem and Obama in Malaysia and on human rights/free speech.

Putin (Putan) first, as a student of history there are two names that spring to mind in this situation. Neville Chamberlain and Adolf Hitler, for those of you don’t know who these individuals are I personally give them credit for World War II. British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain, flew to meet Hitler at his private mountain retreat in Berchtesgaden in an attempt to resolve a crisis. Three documents were signed known as the “Munich Agreement” that garneted the German aggression would stop. Upon returning home to Britain Chamberlain famously declared “We have Peace in our time”. It is widely regarded as a failed act of appeasement toward Germany. In this, our current situation this narcissistic, power crazed liar can never be appeased!

Secretary of State John Kerry reportedly saying behind closed doors that Israel was on the path of becoming an “apartheid” state if it doesn’t agree to a two-state peace deal with the Palestinians. I’m not going to comment about this asinine statement. The person who spoke it, the people who wrote it, and the individual who made the order to carry it out. Are all beneath contempt and should be treated with distain.

President Obama; “What I have shared with the prime minister is the core belief that societies that respect rule of law, that respect freedom of speech, that respect the right of opposition to oppose even when it drives you crazy, even when it's inconvenient, respect for freedom of assembly, the respect for people of different races and different faiths and different political philosophies, that those values are at the core of who the U.S. is but also are a pretty good gauge of whether society is going to be successful in the 21stcentury or not,". What will be the story when he doesn’t like what you have to say? Remember the IRS investigation of 501c3’s. If you tried to start a non-profit named Freedom Constitution Tea Party. The IRS would have been knocking at your door, talking to friends & family, Ad nauseam.

What Effect Will it Have?

I was talking with artist, a real paint and canvas painter, friend of mine at lunch today. I poised a question to him, maybe it was more of an experiment. When a person poises for a portrait, do You talk to them? If so about what? The thought (experiment) being if an artist would get different result based upon the mood set by the conversation one was having with the subject and by extension the artist himself.

I knew he was planning to make a portrait of his wife and I that he might consider the question (experiment). His approach to painting is, as many artists do, to do “studies”[1] before the final work. This would provide the opportunity to look into my premise and to add this, another, layer of complexity to his work. If he dose, the approach should be; in one instance talk about “back home” and in the next “the children” and so on. In each, to examine the actual study to see if there are any differences of note. To use the information to achieve the most desirable final result. If he dose accept this idea then I will have something to talk about later, If not this stops here. (or dose it?)

These are the dictionary definitions of slavery but what truly is slavery?
 
The old saying “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but teach a man to fish and he can feed himself forever” is at the heart of my thought.
 
When a person becomes dependent on that which is given or provided by another is that not also slavery? The street level drug dealer will “give” someone the “fix” until that person becomes dependant “hooked” on their drug of choice. That is when the trouble begins. There is never enough drug(s) or money to feed an insatiable appetite. Dose not the same axiom apply to many other dependant relationships? “We” in our misguided attempt to be kind have inadvertently created a dependant class. People who are all too willing to take everything “we” are willing to give, and more. Again an insatiable appetite for everything free. To the point of feeling “entitled” to everything they need, want, and more. Has our willingness to “help” made these people “slaves”? Not only the first person but the generations that follow. How long and how deep do we tread into the morass that we have created for them and for ourselves and all of our future generations?
 
I don’t know how we are to extricate ourselves from this misguided situation. But exit it we must! If not for the simple fact that it is unsustainable from an economic perspective but from a moral point too. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for helping a person or family when they run on hard times. To aid the child who will go hungry if no help is given is noble. To sublimit the elderly when the meager pension or the insurance policy (Social Security) they have been paying into for their entire working life is just not enough to make it to the end of the month. All these things are good and necessary and have been a part of humanity since the beginning of time.
 
The problem I have is when physically & mentally able individuals have been taught to sit and wait for the next “free” ride to come by and let everyone else pay their way. That to me is slavery both of those receiving and those forced to give, willingly or not!

Our Constitution & Amendments, the supreme law of the land!

            Our founding fathers knew what they were doing in the formation of our government and the supreme laws in the form of our Constitution. First let’s clear up a misconception. Our nation is not a Democracy. Surprised? We are a Republic:  a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law (per Merriam-Webster) for me, and many others, the key words here are “according to LAW”. That is to say the law is above all elected and appointed individuals within the government. That includes, but is not limited to, The President, Supreme Court Justices, Senators and Representatives. The founders wanted, and were right in, that it should be difficult to amend (revise) the constitution. Don’t misunderstand the constitution can be changed. The sole example of this is the 18th amendment (prohibition) and the repeal (undoing) of the 18th amendment, the 21st amendment.
             For someone who follows the goings-on in Washington D.C. it is apparent that attempts to undermine the Constitution and amendments occur on a daily basis. I’m sure those who are behind these attacks would claim they are exercising there right to represent a segment of the electorate. If indeed this were the case they would advocate for repeal of some or part of individual amendments. Instead they are attempting an “end run” around the rules. The First Amendment was usurped during the “Bush 43rd Pres” administration by implementing “First Amendment Zones” (for protesters) located some great distance from the actual location of the people or events they were protesting. This is America! Our “Free Speech Zone” stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border. Not some square painted on the pavement of a parking lot surrounded by yellow tape and armed guards!
            Now the Second Amendment is under attack by the “Obama” administration. The U.N. small arms treaty (http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/07/robert-farago/full-text-draft-u-n-arms-trade-treaty/) (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-weisser/un-small-arms-treaty_b_4337810.html) if ratified by the US senate would, in theory, render part of the Second Amendment null and void by putting the “Right to Bear Arms” in the hands of non Americans. The willingness of both the right (conservative) and left (liberal) tell that the “Political Class” doesn’t care about what “We the People” want or what rights our founding documents reserved for all the people of The United States of America.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. (Preamble to the Constitution)

It would seem that “We” have traded our liberty for the perception of tranquility and welfare doesn’t mean the same thing it did when this, our, constitution was written. What will we leave or posterity (children & grandchildren)? Liberty is freedom!? To go & to do, to say those things each of us wants and holds in our heart. The place our great nation holds, or is it held, in the world as a beacon of hope that everyone everywhere can be can reach the fullest potential of our talents and efforts. Will “We”, Can “We” continue down this path? Why should “We” want to? More importantly, WHO would want us to?
