Dysfunctional America
What do all of these places have in common: Washington
D.C., The State Capitol, The County Seat
and Town Hall, they have all lost there way, they are dysfunctional. The
problem is that “We the people” are also all, dysfunctional. Personal
responsibility, civility, honor, trustworthiness and truthfulness have been
lost in America.
It seems to be the exception for someone to take responsibility for there own
actions. To curse and act the fool in public let alone in private seems to not
offend most of us. The most honorees thing anyone seems to want to do today is
pat them selves on the back for a mediocre job. To sneak, steal or cheat has
been raised to the level of art form. Many of our highest paid executives
inspire the worst in human nature instead of condemning it. Most of us don’t
think anything about telling a lie, to a stranger, a boss, client, customer, fellow
worker, to a parent, child or spouse. To do something mean to someone at
school, work or in the street seems to now be common place. I don't find everyone to be this way but most people seem to have lost there honor in this modern society. What has
happened? In a word “Bible”, the Bible and the teachings within have been and
are still being systematically removed for our culture, with “Political
Correctness” and “Self Realization” running amuck and anti-religion, except for
Islam, being the word of the day. It is harder and harder to find those things
that are good and right around us. Let’s try something; we will throw out the Bible
except for the last six of the ten along with the two. That makes eight simple
rules for your personal moniker.
Let’s review,
- Honor your parents. (they have experience and should want what is good for you)
- Don’t murder anyone. (sounds simple and straight forward)
- Commit to who you’re committed to. (What if the shoe were on the other foot?)
- Don’t steal. (If it is not yours don’t take it)
- Don’t tell a lie (Especially if it will put another in jail or to death)
- Don’t covet. (It is one thing to admire something another to want it for your own)
- Treat everyone like they were your brother.
- Don’t do anything to anyone you wouldn’t want them to do to you.
