Are Carbon Credits Slavery?

Do Carbon Credits equal Slavery?
I’ve written about slavery before, that was individual slavery. Today I will make a very few points about our country and all of our people being enslaved by the flimflam better known as “Carbon Offsets”. The Earth has been around longer than humans. There have been many changes on our planet before we were nothing more than a few individuals in the desert. Human kind had nothing to do with neither ice ages nor the end of them. Now a few greedy people want to make everyone to think mankind has more to do with the earths and weather than is logical. These people would have each American, European and anyone living in a first world nation punished for the success we have worked hard for and now enjoy. They fill the weak-minded and the foolish with half of the science story and fear in order to extort treasure from each of us. Don’t think so? Are you paying a higher utility bill? How about more for gas? That is just the beginning, it will cost more for everything and what do we get in return? Demands that we do and spend more for more of the same thing. It doesn't make any scenes. It doesn't add up!

…This sale price is comparable to that set by other carbon retailers in Canada. For example, Offsetters charges $20 or $30 per tonne, Planetair, $33.80 and Less.ca charges $25 or $45 per tonne… http://www.pacificcarbontrust.com/propose-a-project/carbon-offset-pricing-structure/...

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?...
PLIMER: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland, Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you…   …it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life… …Well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days. The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time… …that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.  Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it. Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change. And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.  Just remember… … 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.   Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention ' Global Warming'   anymore, but just ' Climate Change '- you know why? It's because the planet has   COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down. And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure…

I’ve been saying something similar to what's in the proceeding article for years, even caught a “Climate Scientist” at a party for a brief, very brief, discussion on “Global Warming”, “Climate Change” or what ever it’s being called this week. He didn’t seem to like that I knew about the phases of the sun, relative position Earth to the sun. Earths “Warble” on its axis and the cycles of climate on the Earth. Not to mention the volcano's Mt. Etna in Italy, Krakatoa in the Indian Ocean (or at least it used to be) & Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippians and the other ten score plus active volcanoes on our Earth. I really didn't present the limited info I had when He finally threw his hands up a walked away. Was it because the arguments he was using were weak?

Don’t misunderstand me humans make a mess, like a bird defecating in its own nest. But in nature, when the bird leaves, the rain and wind will come and the nest is gone along with the mess. Not to say we can do anything without worry but we shouldn’t take humankind too seriously. Nature doesn’t!

Don’t allow yourself to be enslaved by the corrupt, greedy and evil. They will subjugate if we let them!

United States of America: Conundrum!

United States of America: Conundrum!

The definition of the word conundrum is “something that is puzzling or confusing.”
I received this from a friend then saw it again on a conservative blog.
"Here are six conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:
1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.
2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.
3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! That, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st century.
Makes you wonder who is doing the math."

"These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1 . We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Funny how that works.

And here's another one worth considering...

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come    we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the    first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it.....

and last but not least,

3. Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something?"

It's hard to add anything to the thoughts presented, but I'll try! I'm sure "Politically Incorrect" will rear its ugly head. It usually dose when an honest person speaks there mind.

1. We are all greedy because we want something better for ourselves and our posterity (future generations). 2. The subsidized rent, air conditioned apartment's. People sitting in front of a big, flat screen with cable and an Xbox munching on EBT bought Cheetos. 3. We live in a society that is in the state of perpetual victimization. The only problem is a victim of who and/or what, being given too much? 4. There aren't many in DC I feel represent me & mine so who do they represent? 5. Poor? POOR? There are a few in this country who know poor, but they don't/won't take from the government. (see 2.) 6. If it were so good back where they came from, why did they leave in the first place? Why don't they return there, forthwith?

I know people who come here from foreign lands. They work hard, don't complain while they are trying to fulfill "The American Dream". These people are the ones who I have respect for. My distain is for the ones who have there hands out. The ones who will never be satisfied no matter how much is given them. Respect is something that is earned not something that is given!

Something Changed While I Wasn’t Looking

Something Changed While I Wasn’t Looking

I am divorced and have been so for a while now, about two years, after being with the same person for fifteen years. I hadn’t felt much like dating because I was still in love with my wife, (x-wife). So I get out on the scene only to find “Something changed while I wasn’t looking”. It would seem that being decent, direct, forthright and sincere is something modern women not only disdain but distance themselves from

My first attempt started by dating someone I always thought of as an honest and moral person, but when I got close I found, even though I made my intentions clear, a secretive, a pensive individual and it seemed that my stated intentions meant nothing. On my second try I thought I would use a different approach. After observing and a bit of light flirting the opportunity for an talk, to find out which way the wind blew, presented itself. What a surprise, almost immediately an offer of “friends with benefits” was extended to me. I know it sounds odd but I’m no “player” and said as much, in a nice way. That went less well than the first farce. The third and most recent candidate was another I have known for a while. I was a bit put-off at first contact but discounted it in that availability needed to be established. Upon further observation and interviews, with individuals whom had inside information, reconsideration was made on my part. There had been no talk of dating or contact other than subtle innuendo so I thought nothing of it, wrong again. The cold shoulder was the result of that. No great loss as my instinct and interviews pointed to deception and guile. I’ll have none of that again.

Have things changed this much in the last decade and a half? Am I being too hard or is this the new reality? How can I deal with things if they are so different from what I remember? Why am I so out of touch? Perhaps I have not had enough time, out in the world, to find the person I’m looking for! All this leaves me vexed by what I don’t understand.

I'll keep trying, even if I don't understand. I'm sure I don’t like the “New Dating Scene” I have encountered!

Memorial Day and Veterans Day?

Memorial Day and Veterans Day?

Some confuse the two days. Memorial Day  is set aside to remember and honor those in the military who died in the service of their country. Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime and those who died are also remembered

Memorial Day Trivia
  • It was a post Civil War, Southern tradition first known as Decoration Day.
  • It to honor and remember the soldiers who died. In 1882, many people began calling it “Memorial Day”. After World Wars I and II, it became accepted as a day to remember all of our military men and women who died, not just those from the Civil War era. A Federal law was passed in 1987 officially acknowledging the name of the holiday as “Memorial Day”.
  • It is customary to fly the flag at half staff until noon.
  • In 2000, Congress established a National Moment of Remembrance, which asks Americans to pause for one minute at 3pm in an act of national unity.
Veterans Day Trivia
  • Veterans Day is always observed officially on November 11, regardless of the day of the week on which it falls. The Veterans Day National Ceremony, like most ceremonies around the nation, is held on Veterans Day itself. However, when Veterans Day falls on a weekday, many communities choose to hold Veterans Day parades or other celebrations on the weekend before or after November 11 so that more people can participate.
  • A number of countries honor their veterans each year on November 11, although the name and types of commemorations differ somewhat from Veterans Day celebrations in the United States. For example, Canada and Australia observe "Remembrance Day" on November 11, and Great Britain observes "Remembrance Day" on the Sunday nearest to November 11. There are similarities and differences between these countries' Remembrance Day and America's Veterans Day. Canada's observance is actually quite similar to the U.S. celebration, in that the day is intended to honor all who served in Canada's Armed Forces. However, unlike in the U.S., many Canadians wear red poppy flowers on November 11 in honor of their war dead. In Australia, Remembrance Day is very much like America's Memorial Day, a day to honor that nation's war dead.

Dysfunctional America

Dysfunctional America

What do all of these places have in common: Washington D.C., The State Capitol, The County Seat and Town Hall, they have all lost there way, they are dysfunctional. The problem is that “We the people” are also all, dysfunctional. Personal responsibility, civility, honor, trustworthiness and truthfulness have been lost in America. It seems to be the exception for someone to take responsibility for there own actions. To curse and act the fool in public let alone in private seems to not offend most of us. The most honorees thing anyone seems to want to do today is pat them selves on the back for a mediocre job. To sneak, steal or cheat has been raised to the level of art form. Many of our highest paid executives inspire the worst in human nature instead of condemning it. Most of us don’t think anything about telling a lie, to a stranger, a boss, client, customer, fellow worker, to a parent, child or spouse. To do something mean to someone at school, work or in the street seems to now be common place. I don't find everyone to be this way but most people seem to have lost there honor in this modern society. What has happened? In a word “Bible”, the Bible and the teachings within have been and are still being systematically removed for our culture, with “Political Correctness” and “Self Realization” running amuck and anti-religion, except for Islam, being the word of the day. It is harder and harder to find those things that are good and right around us. Let’s try something; we will throw out the Bible except for the last six of the ten along with the two. That makes eight simple rules for your personal moniker.

Let’s review,
  1. Honor your parents.  (they have experience and should want what is good for you)
  2. Don’t murder anyone.  (sounds simple and straight forward)
  3. Commit to who you’re committed to.  (What if the shoe were on the other foot?)
  4. Don’t steal.  (If it is not yours don’t take it)
  5. Don’t tell a lie  (Especially if it will put another in jail or to death)
  6. Don’t covet.  (It is one thing to admire something another to want it for your own)
  1. Treat everyone like they were your brother.
  2. Don’t do anything to anyone you wouldn’t want them to do to you.

What is Mothers Day?

What is Mothers Day?

What is Mothers Day, May 11, 2014? History http://www.history.com/topics/holidays/mothers-day tells it like this; Mother’s Day is a holiday honoring motherhood that is observed in different forms throughout the world. The American incarnation of Mother’s Day was created by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and became an official U.S. holiday in 1914. Jarvis would later denounce the holiday’s commercialization and the latter part of her life trying to remove it from the calendar. While dates and celebrations vary, Mother’s Day most commonly falls on the second Sunday in May...

This the day when children, of all ages, try to show the woman who gave them life how much she means to them. That very special day when serving breakfast in bed is almost obligatory in some households, with Hallmark or extra effort homemade card is on the serving tray. I know this is an idealistic view, but when it comes to Mom, money is of no object, chocolate, candy, flowers, dinning at the finest restaurants & presents of all description. My mother has been gone now for a few years and my youngest is no longer in his mother’s home so I can only participate second hand. I sure do miss being able to do something special for my Mom.
Is “Mothers Day” a holiday hijacked by savvy marketers to fill another weekend with over-the-top spending? Yes! I also think it would be altogether impossible for everyone who wants to celebrate the day without this symbiotic relationship. Do I wish it were different? Again yes, but it is what it is because with our bizzy world it's necessary.
When I sat down to write this I had trouble, not because what “Mothers Day” isn't but because it is. It is all those things that it needs to be, a celebration of mothers everywhere and a positive cash flow situation for many businesses and industries. The thing is, nothing is so altruistic that it doesn't have “the ripple” effect in many different ways. We are all reliant on others, not the least of which is our mothers. For truly this is where we all began.
Hope ever one had a GREAT Mothers Day!

Is it Time for the Beach Yet?

Is it Time for the Beach Yet?

Summer has officially arrived. As if Y’all didn’t know by now. It going to be “The Long HOT Summer” too. It’s easy to convince people of “Global Warming” oops that’s “Global Climate Change” now isn’t it? (Off on a tangent) because it seems to be wormer now than when I was a kid. It can’t be that I’m less tolerant of the heat, it’s just dam hot!!!

Sitting on the shore drinking a cool beer whilst sitting under an umbrella watching the sun rise over a calm Atlantic, walking a mile to nowhere and back again. Napping on the sand listing to the serf, watching firm bodies in tiny bikini’s play volleyball, now that’s entertainment. All that makes the nearly hour drive to and fro worth every minute spent.

I have been going to the same stretch of beach for almost fifty years. That’s not to say I don’t go/have gone to others but this is the ONE. The bathroom and rinse showers are on the boardwalk at the top of the dune.  Pizza place, Starbucks and ColdStone are right there with a WallGreens & surf shop across the street. Everything one needs close enough, but when you’re on the sand it’s all a million miles away.

Florida is Paradise!
